Privacy Policy
This is the Privacy Policy for Advance Guide (the “App”), a free educational utility published by LUMA Vision s.r.o. (the “Publisher”, “we”, “our”, “us”). Advance Guide is a personal-finance literacy reference: it shows you eight built-in money-math concept cards, four on-device calculators, a six-step decision walk, and eight editorial articles. Everything you see is computed on your device from inputs you type yourself. The App does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what we do (almost nothing) and what we do not do (almost everything).
1. Plain-English summary
Advance Guide is offline. We do not run a server, we do not maintain user accounts, and the App contains zero analytics or advertising SDKs. The only thing the App writes is local state on your iPhone — your last calculator inputs, which articles you marked as understood, and any feedback you choose to save. None of that ever leaves your device through the App.
The short version: the App is a private, on-device textbook with a calculator. Nothing leaves your phone unless you yourself send an email through the contact form on this website.
2. What we do not collect
To make this absolutely clear, the App does not:
- Ask you to create an account, sign in, or supply an Apple ID;
- Read your contacts, calendar, photo library, microphone, camera, or location;
- Use HealthKit, push notifications, in-app purchases, or subscriptions;
- Make any network requests for analytics, telemetry, ads, A/B testing, or remote configuration;
- Embed third-party SDKs from Facebook, Google, Adjust, AppsFlyer, Firebase, Sentry, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or any other vendor;
- Track you across apps or websites (the App has no cross-app tracking and is not enabled to do so);
- Use cookies (it is a native iOS app — no web view collects them).
Apple's App Store “privacy nutrition label” for Advance Guide reflects this: Data Not Collected.
3. What is stored on your device
The following data exists, but only on your iPhone, in the App's standard sandbox:
- Preferences — your theme choice (Auto / Light / Dark), local-hints toggle, haptics toggle. Stored via standard iOS
NSUserDefaults. - Calculator inputs — the most recent values you set in each Math Bench mode (APR, APY, payoff months, utilization), so the App reopens in the place you left it.
- Walk progress — the answers you tapped during the six-step Move Map decision flow, plus the recommendation card it produced.
- Article state — which Field Notes articles you expanded, which apply chips you tapped, and which concept cards you marked as “understood”. Stored via SwiftData.
- Feedback drafts — anything you typed into the Settings → Send feedback form. We never see this. It stays on your device until you tap Save (which writes it to local SwiftData) or delete it.
You can wipe everything in this list at any time via Settings → Built-in data controls → Clear local state. You can wipe even faster by deleting the App; iOS removes the entire sandbox automatically.
4. Third-party services
The iOS App itself contains no third-party services. The website you are reading right now (advanceguide.net) loads two external resources:
- Google Fonts — to load the Crimson Pro typeface. Google's privacy practices apply to that fetch. We do not pass any identifier or query parameter to Google. If you would prefer to load fonts only from us, your browser's privacy settings can block third-party requests.
- Cloudflare — the website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may log basic request metadata (IP address, User-Agent) for routing and security. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies. We do not place any analytics or tracking pixels.
5. Children's privacy
Advance Guide is rated 4+ on the App Store. It is safe for children, but its content (APR math, credit-score components, debt-to-income ratio) is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children — and, indeed, we do not knowingly collect data from anyone, regardless of age. If you are a parent or guardian and you would like the App removed from a child's device, you can simply delete it; no account exists to deactivate.
6. Your rights
Even though we hold no personal data about you, you still have the following rights under the GDPR, CCPA, and similar privacy laws:
- Right of access: there is nothing to access remotely. All data is on your device, where you can read it directly.
- Right of erasure: tap Settings → Clear local state, or delete the App.
- Right to portability: the data is local-only — copy it via standard iOS Files / iCloud Backup as you would with any other app.
- Right to object & restrict processing: we do not process anything; nothing to restrict.
- Right to lodge a complaint: if you believe we have nevertheless mishandled your data, you may contact your local data-protection authority (in the EU, your national supervisory authority; in California, the CPPA).
7. Security & data breach
Because the App keeps no server and stores nothing about you off your device, the practical attack surface for a centralised data breach involving Advance Guide is zero. The local data on your iPhone is protected by the standard iOS sandbox and (if you have a passcode set) by hardware-level encryption. We recommend keeping iOS up to date.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in any meaningful way (for example, if we ever add a feature that collects data), we will update the Last updated date at the top of this page and, where the change materially affects you, surface a notice inside the App on next launch. We will not retroactively apply collection to data created under the old policy.
